Kismet
Kismet is the westernmost beach community on Fire Island, immediately west of Saltaire and east of the Fire Island Lighthouse. Kismet is accessible by ferry from Bay Shore on Long Island. Kismet can be accessed by road via the Robert Moses Causeway, but you must have a special permit to drive past “Field 5″ in Robert Moses State Park. Also, overnight parking in Field 5 is prohibited. Because of it’s proximity to the Robert Moses Causeway, Kismet is known for having many year round residents. Homeowners in Kismet tend to be from surrounding areas on Long Island. Also, Kismet is well known as a community friendly to singles and share houses.
